Joel joined OSE in 2024 following over a decade of health tech investment and operating experience. Most recently, Joel was a senior investor at Pitango Venture Capital focusing on early-stage healthcare investments. Prior to Pitango, Joel was VP of Strategy and Business Development at Healthy.io. He joined the company, which launched pioneering clinical products using the embedded smartphone camera, as the first non-technical hire in 2014.
Before joining Healthy.io Joel served as a special advisor to the Minister of Health of Nigeria, supporting the country's efforts in improving access to health care financing and primary care delivery. Earlier in his career Joel worked in management consultant at Kaiser Associates and a financial analyst at Citywire in London.
Joel holds graduate degrees in Economics and Finance from the London School Economics and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He holds a B.A. in Politics and Economics from the University of Zurich.
